Fees and third party costs
This page lists every cost attached to running your clinic on MySpark+, including the ones that are not ours. Card processing is the big one: it is charged by your payment processor, not by us, and it is the cost most often confused for a software fee.
The pricing page is the sales version. This is the complete version, with the rates in it. If anything here disagrees with the pricing page or the Terms of Service, email hello@litbiz.io and we will fix it.
What MySpark+ charges you
Three things:
- Your plan. Flat per clinic: Studio $29, Practice $99, Clinic $219, Network from $349 per month. Staff seats are included in the tier. Annual billing is ten months for twelve.
- Prepaid top‑up packs, on the months you choose to buy one.
- Overage on automated patient messages, if you pass your allotment, your credits and the grace buffer. Rates are published below.
Plan fees are exclusive of any applicable taxes.
What MySpark+ never charges you
- No percentage of your patient payments. No cut, no per‑transaction fee, no application fee. Money your patients pay you does not pass through us.
- No per‑provider fee. Hiring does not raise your software bill inside your tier.
- No HIPAA or BAA fee. Both are included on every plan, Studio included.
- No setup or migration fee. We move your patients, services and schedule as part of onboarding.
- No contract and no cancellation fee. Cancel any time, effective at the end of the billing period.
Card processing is a third party cost
MySpark+ does not process cards. You connect your own Square or Authorize.net account, you hold the agreement with that processor, and you pay them directly at the rate they quoted you. We add nothing on top of it.
What follows from that:
- Your rate is theirs to set. We cannot raise it, lower it, or negotiate it for you. If you get a better rate from your processor, you keep all of it.
- Card details are stored with the processor, not with MySpark+.
- Chargebacks, dispute fees, refund handling, gateway or statement fees, and payout timing are all governed by your processor agreement. We surface disputes in the app when the processor tells us about one, but the money and the rules are theirs.
- We are not a party to the transaction between you and your patient.
- Terminal hardware, if you buy a Square Terminal for the front desk, is purchased from Square at Square's price.
If a line you do not recognize shows up on a processor statement, that is a question for Square or Authorize.net. We do not have visibility into their fee schedules and we would only be guessing.

Usage allotments, and what happens at the cap
Every plan includes a monthly allotment of email, SMS, voice minutes and, on Practice and above, telehealth visit minutes. The per‑tier numbers are on the pricing page. Allotments reset each billing cycle and do not roll over.
Passing an allotment does three different things depending on what kind of message it is. This is the part worth reading closely.
- Automated patient messages never stop. Appointment reminders, confirmations, receipts and portal links keep sending past your cap, always. This is deliberate: your no‑show protection is not something we will hold hostage to a quota. Past your allotment, your prepaid credits and a grace buffer of 500 emails or 100 SMS segments, these messages bill as overage at the rates below.
- Staff‑written messages stop at the cap. Anything you type in Conversations, and anything a staff‑built automation sends, pauses instead of billing. Buy a top‑up and it resumes immediately.
- Marketing sends stop at the cap. Same behavior, same fix.
Overage rates
| Channel | Overage rate | Grace buffer first |
|---|---|---|
| $0.002 per message | 500 emails | |
| SMS | $0.025 per segment | 100 segments |
| Telehealth minutes | No overage. Stops at the cap. | Not applicable |
| Voice minutes | None published | Not applicable |
Notes on that table:
- A long text message is more than one SMS segment. Plain text fits 160 characters before it splits, then 153 per part once it does. Emoji and other special characters drop those limits to 70 and 67.
- Overage totalling under $1.00 in a billing period is waived. We do not bill it. Charging you forty cents costs more goodwill than it earns.
- Overage is charged to your card on file at the end of the billing period, itemized, never mid‑cycle by surprise.
- A top‑up is always cheaper per message than overage, by design. If you are seeing overage more than occasionally, a top‑up or the next tier costs you less. We would rather tell you that than quietly collect the difference.
- Telehealth blocks a new visit from starting once the minutes are gone, and a visit already underway is never cut off. Top‑ups add minutes instantly.
- Voice minutes are counted against your plan and shown in your usage panel. No per‑minute overage rate is published today. If your call volume regularly runs past your plan, talk to us about the tier that fits.
Top‑up pack prices
Prepaid, bought on purpose, applied instantly. There is no automatic upsell here: a pack is only charged when you buy one, or when you have deliberately switched on auto‑recharge and set its per‑period limit yourself.
| Pack | $10 | $25 | $50 |
|---|---|---|---|
| 8,000 | 20,000 | 40,000 | |
| SMS | 600 | 1,600 | 3,400 |
| Telehealth minutes | 500 | 1,400 | 3,000 |
Packs are non‑refundable once consumed. There is no voice top‑up pack today.
Bringing your own Twilio account
If you connect your own Twilio account instead of using the number we provide, your SMS and voice are not metered by MySpark+ at all. They do not draw on your plan allotment and they never generate overage from us. You are billed by Twilio directly, at Twilio's rates, under your own account with them.
Sales tax on what you charge patients
MySpark+ calculates sales tax at checkout using the rates you configure, and it appears on the patient's receipt. That money is yours and it is owed to your tax authority. We do not collect it, hold it, or remit it on your behalf, and we are not your tax advisor. Configure your rates with your accountant.
What the 30‑day guarantee covers
If MySpark+ is not working for your clinic, tell us within 30 days of your first purchase and we refund your subscription fees in full. It applies once per clinic, to your first subscription purchase. It does not cover top‑up packs you have already consumed, and it cannot cover card processing fees on your own patient transactions, because that money went to your processor and not to us. Full terms are in the Terms of Service.
Questions about a charge
Email hello@litbiz.io from your account address and we will pull the itemization. Every send that counted against your plan is logged and we can show you exactly what it was.
